Well I’ve been a bit crap at this whole blogging thing lately I’ve I? Where did February go? I’ve been a bit scatterbrained recently with some potentially exciting news (but it isn’t tied up in a neat little bow yet so I don’t feel 100% confident about shouting from the rooftops yet) and I’ve also been loaded up with a fluey cold, so I fell behind on MusicMondays and a few other ideas that weren’t totally fleshed out.
I was also pretty withdrawn from Twitter for a while. Well, except to get in polite arguments with Joel Madden and post a couple of pictures of cats. I miss #TheGirlGang heaps. Unfortunately, Mondays have been kind of crazy, but hopefully I’ll find a sense of normalcy and get involved again soon!
So what’s been going on?
I’ve been hanging out a lot at Maison De Moggy
This probably isn’t a surprise to anyone. I think I have an unhealthy obsession with these delightful little furballs. I love catching up with the cat nannies too (and I’m devo that Steff is returning to Canada-land, they’re so lucky to have her back 😭) and always feel very special when Fabian or Marcel decide I’m worthy of a cuddle.
Jacques has become less of a recluse and seems to rather enjoy examining my camera…
Pauline is less sure how she feels about it…
Guillaume continues to obsessively watch the pigeons from the windowsill, but regularly turns to pose if I ask nicely…
And Elodie, well as usual she’s just looking for a good vantage point to keep an eye on the comings and goings in the cafe – and making sure she’s not missing out on any cake!
I got a new car 😊
Haven’t got a decent photo of it yet but its lovely. Probably the thing I missed most while living in London was getting to drive. There’s something really relaxing about it when you can just go wherever you want whenever you want in your own vehicle.
I shot my first show for Take A Shot
There’s been some technical issues that held this up, but it was pretty exciting to return to the photo pitt for the first time in almost a year. I love concert photography, I really do, and I think I used to be pretty good at it, but it’s an exceptionally competitive field these days and so getting approved is becoming more of a struggle. I’ve love to get back to shooting more – whether its in wee venues like King Tuts or big ones like the Hydro! I guess we’ll have to see how things play out.
Either way covering the lovely ’80s inspired pop rockers Walk The Moon at Edinburgh’s Queen’s Hall was a lot of fun, even if it was a solo adventure. I’m always looking for more central Scotland gig buddies if anyone’s looking for one 😬
There’s are just outtakes, you can see a whole bunch of photos and my review over on takeashot now.
Well, that’s about it really, how has everyone else’s February been?
